Troon Yacht Haven shares its 40th anniversary celebrations with one of its employees.
Duke Darge, yard manager at Troon marina, helped celebrate the marinas 40th anniversary with a commendable 40 years of employment with the ever-popular haven.
Employee Duke has been recognised for his service to the organisation from starting as a trainee back in 1978. He was one of the first employees at the marina and continues his work today managing the boatyard operations.
The yacht veteran now manages the 55-ton boat lift and storage ashore while he spends his spare time racing yachts across the UK.
Commenting on Duke’s landmark year, Marina Director Stephen Bennie said, “Troon Yacht Haven simply wouldn’t be what it is today without Duke’s incredible loyalty, knowledge and experience.
“He is well-known and highly respected across Scottish sailing, not just because of his commitment to providing a first-class service to boaters in Troon, but also his yacht racing achievements.”
