This coming Sunday, Troon will get its festivities underway with a host of activities and events going on throughout the day.

Troon’s ‘Wintertainment’ is one of the biggest and busiest on the Towns calendar and this year is no exception. The family fun day doubles up with the Christmas light switch on to bring people and families of Troon together.

It begins at 12.30pm where the Parade commences its journey through the town starting from Templehill. It will be led by the award winning 1st Troon Boys Brigade Band.

Amongst the BB Band will be a variety of locals parading behind them such as the Gala Queen – Eilidh Graham, Gala Princesses: Sisters Aeva and Morna Graham who will be paraded around in a vintage Rolls Royce.

Different youth organisations, dancing schools, the coastal rowing club, Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), samba band Sum Wumin Drumin and Mrs Claus will also be on show.

The RNLI will be hosting their annual fund-raising day in the Town and Walker Halls for locals to donate anything they can to the great cause.

The much sought-after fairground attractions will also return this year, this time being held in the car park directly behind the M & Co. store.

In Troon Old Parish Church Hall there will be different events on throughout the day as follows; 1.05pm – 1.35pm: The Karalyn Bell School of Dance will be performing, and locals are encouraged to come and support the youngsters who are taking part.
