ORGANISERS of Troon's annual fireworks display this week thanked people from across the community for supporting the event.

Troon Round Table put the event back 24 hours to November 4, following the forecast of torrential rain the night before.

Treasurer Colin Hogg said: "We are delighted with how things went and it was definitely the right decision as the weather was really good.

"We had good feedback from people who came along. It's a community event so we just have to cover our costs. It was a great display from the company Midnight Storm, who we have been working with for a while. The fairground rides were very popular and Albert Reid Amusements again supplied them.

"It was really busy, there could have been a couple of thousand people there."

Thanks go to everyone who attended the evening and families or organisers who allowed them to help out from 10am until midnight for some, especially given the change of schedule.

Midnight Storm Fireworks provided a fantastic show and support also came from Hillhouse Quarry Group and Lido Troon/Scotts - Troon along with Reid’s amusements/Finesse Marquees/Border Cars/GB Soundz One Stop Entertainments & Wedding Services/Discover Ayrshire/The South Beach Hotel/South Ayrshire Council/Ambulance Scotland and Ayrshire Police Division.

Thanks go to the volunteers who helped on the night from Troon Ladies Circle/41 Club - Troon and Ayr Amateur Opera Company (Public Page).
