A LOCAL Spar store is set to be sold as a retail distributor swoops in to market the shop's growth.
The Ayr newsagents on Main Road, Whittletts will be taken over by Christie & Co, appointed by CJ Lang who plan to bring eight stores in Scotland to the market and develop growth of their estate.
The sale of the eight sites will bring the marketer's portfolio to a total of 108 sites, with plans to add three new greenfield sites across the Central Belt of Scotland to its portfolio over the next 12 months.
Daniel Arrandale, Director at Christie & Co said: “The sites represent an ideal opportunity for both experienced operators or first-time buyers to acquire an established convenience store business at a competitive price."
Ayr's Spar will remain open but new ideas to market sales may be forthcoming in future.
