PEOPLE have flooded to the seaside today to enjoy an absolute scorcher of a bank holiday.

Ayr and Troon beaches welcomed locals and visitors to their sunny shores as temperatures reached as high as 23 degrees Celsius.

Many have enjoyed an Easter weekend full of good weather, but today it really peaked with soaring heat and clear skies spoiling those lucky enough to have the day off.

Some locals have commented that roads were brimming with cars where some areas had cars double parked, meaning traffic could only migrate one way it was that full.

Local policing has also increased as a result of the warm weather with more officers called in to deal with increasing incidents.

We hope everyone has had a fun Easter bank holiday Monday!
