The Ardrossan Coastguard Rescue Team was called out to reports of a small vessel with an engine failure near to Irvine Harbour last week.
The incident occurred at around 1.30pm on Tuesday, April 16, with the team responding immediately as RNLI Troon Lifeboat launched both their all-weather and inshore lifeboats to assist.
The stricken vessel with one person onboard was approximately half a mile from the harbour’s entrance when the team arrived on the scene.
Troon Inshore lifeboat took the boat under tow and into Irvine Harbour where the person onboard was taken safely to shore.
