Two women were stabbed outside a Kilwinning pub at the weekend.
Police are hunting the attacker after a 23-year-old woman and a 24-year-old woman were assaulted in Bridge End, near to the Cosy Corner pub on Saturday night.
The violence erupted at around 8.45pm and left the two women suffering minor injuries, but both refused hospital treatment.
No arrests have yet been made but the Times understands police are following a positive line of inquiry.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “At around 8.45pm on Saturday, April 20, police were called to a report of two women, aged 23 and 24, who had been stabbed in Bridge End, Kilwinning. Both women sustained minimal injuries but declined medical attention.
“Inquiries are ongoing.”
