NEW toilets will finally open in Barassie seafront in the summer but people will have to pay for their use.
The plans for new facilities were announced four years ago but now work is almost complete, which will be a big relief with a big influx of day trippers and holidaymakers set to descend on the town for the holidays.
A South Ayrshire Council spokesman said: “Works are cur rently progressing well at the site of the new toilets at Barassie Beach.
The project will be finished this summer and when it opens there will be a 30 pence charge for each visit. Disabled people will be able to use the facility for free with their Radar key.”
Local campaigner Donna Read has welcomed the news.
She said: “It’s great to see some investment in Barassie and the 30p charge is reasonable to have these much needed brand new facilities.”
