A TOP football tournament is being named after a legendary referee.

This weekend's Land O'Burns event is being dedicated to the memory of "Papa" Joe McGill, who died earlier this year and was a great supporter of the event.

As we fast approach the kick-off at KGV and Rozelle we look ahead to another brilliant weekend of football which will see games played on Saturday and Sunday.

Some 268 teams are set to arrive from across the UK and Ireland to play in the newly-renamed Papa Joe McGill Land O’Burns Scotland Cup.

A real showcase of the many young talents currently playing at the grassroots level including the 20 plus girl’s team playing in this year’s event. Scotland Cup Tournaments are delighted to continue supporting our new charity partner for 2019 at the Papa Joe McGill Land O’Burns, the Kris Boyd Charity, working together to beat mental health issues throughout the ages. They were delighted to present youth footballer Lochlan Murdoch with a cheque for £500 to show their support for his hard work and dedication to raising money with his charity marathon.
