AYR Craigie Ladies just missed out on a third successive gold medal in the Scottish National Bowling Championships at Northfield last week

They lost out in the semi-finals of the fours event at the Ayr venue, securing bronze.

Making up the team were Louise Noon, Jan Docherty, Elizabeth Nelson and Anne Brown.

Howard Park ladies pairs,Shona Blackwood and Steph Bell also won bronze.

Susan Murray of Seafield reached the third round of the Ladies Singles, while the Wattfield ladies triples went out in the third round.

Auchinleck pairs Hannah Smith & Claire Johnston won gold medals

Cumnock over 55’s fours Jean Sykes, Margaret Bingham, Linda Bryce and Heather Kay won gold medals, as did the Townholm gents triples Grant Hamilton, Cameron Wilson and Drew Boyd.

Commonwealth Games hero Paul Foster and Colin Howie of Troon Portland BC lost out in the the first round of the Gents Pairs to Stanley BC.

The Gents Singles final was won by Gordon White of Aberlady, while Margaret Letham of Burnbank Hamilton won the Ladies Singles.

Meanwhile, Troon Portland ace Ross Gouldstone was runner-up in the Scottish Youth Bowling Association National Singles event at Northfield on Sunday.
