A TEENAGER stabbed a friend who had supported him at court the previous day.
Rhys MacLeod, 18, attacked David Dunsmore at a house in Cumnock in March this year.
The 24-year-old victim had earlier gone with MacLeod to Ayr Sheriff Court where he was appearing for a separate matter.
But, the pair later got into a row on their return.
Prosecutor Erin Campbell told the High Court in Glasgow how MacLeod knifed his friend, who had to be “pulled out for his safety”.
MacLeod fled, but was later spotted by police walking past the house and caught.
The court heard the victim suffered an almost three-inch cut to his liver.
He needed surgery for the “potentially life threatening” injury.
Mr Dunsmore has been left scarred.
MacLeod pled guilty to assaulting Mr Dunsmore to his severe injury, permanent disfigurement and to the danger of his life.
He also admitted breaching a curfew.
Lord Beckett remanded him in custody pending sentencing next month.
