AN open event to raise awareness of volunteering opportunities in South Ayrshire was a huge success last week.
The Festival of Volunteering South Ayrshire was held in Ayr Central on Friday, September 27 and was very well attended by interested locals looking to help the community.
Organised by Voluntary Action South Ayrshire, a total of 25 local and national organisations were on hand to offer opportunities in volunteering including Ayrshire Hospice, Seascape, and Enable Ayr.
The event showcased fine musical talent with performer Scott Nicol among others making it along to entertain everyone.
Vital funds for volunteering projects were also raised through a tombola on the day.
It was also noted there was a great turnout from young people, including school pupils, interested in getting involved with volunteering in the community.
