MEMBERS and committee of the Ayrshire Philatelic Society had a busy weekend as they hosted an annual fair and welcomed their new president.
On Friday, October 4 they were treated to the Presidential Display by Ken Gibb which included stamps and covers from the island of St Kilda.
Ken then took members through a world tour of significant geological sites on postcard. He was then presented with a certificate by John Chalmers, the past president.
On Saturday the society were hosts to the Annual Stamp and Postcard Fair at Prestwick Community Centre, organised on behalf of the SW Scotland philatelic societies. A total of 23 tables were laid out with nine dealers present, there was plenty for everyone to look at and purchase.
