A PENSIONER has died after she crashed into a hedge near Dalrymple.

The 76-year-old was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital by air ambulance after the horror crash on Tuesday morning.

Police have tragically confirmed she passed away yesterday in hospital from her injuries.

It comes after emergency services rushed to the B7034 close to its junction with the A77 around 9.50am.

The pensioner’s grey Toyota Yaris had flown off the carriageway and smashed into a hedge at the roadside.

She was then airlifted to the Glasgow hospital in critical condition.

Police closed the road for five hours as officers probed the scene and now appealing for any witness to come forward, especially those that might have dashcam footage.

Sergeant Ian Thornton, of Ayrshire Road Policing, said: “A 76-year-old woman has died following a road crash in South Ayrshire on Tuesday 3 December 2019.

“The road crash occurred around 9.50am on Tuesday morning on the B7034 near to its junction with the A77, when a grey Toyota Yaris travelling west towards the A77, left the roadway and collided with a hedge.
