A fitness instructor has won Scotland’s toughest obstacle course race.

Irvine’s Scott Brown took home the Mactuff 2020 title this weekend following a gruelling race which saw him tackle the 30k course.

Former soldier Scott took part in the Mactuff challenge less than two months after coming first in Europe and fifth in the world in the World’s Toughest Mudder.

Scott took a 35-strong team  from his Scott Brown Fitness gym with him to  Knockhill Racing Circuit  in Dunfermline on Janurary 5 and ended up taking home the number one spot.

Scott said: “It was great to start the year with a win. Ive won all the race events across Scotland but for one reason or another I hadnt raced the Mactuff event before so felt like I had to do it this year seen as it’s Scotlands biggest OCR race.”

Scott says his tough mudder experiences of the past helped him through the tricky course.
He said: “I started fast and found myself in a comfortable lead, obstacles were tough with cold, wet hands so I knew the grip wouldn’t be perfect but I did what I needed to do and got them done.

“I was over the moon to get the win and has given me extra fuel to push on to more big results this year.

“I’m looking for a sponsor to back me at races so if anyone wants to then please get in touch if you want to work together.

“We took a huge squad up of over 35 racers so that was amazing too to be the main player in Scotland for OCR training and events. They all done amazing with SIX podiums from my team in total across all the races.”
