ORGANISERS of the shortened Ayrshire Music Festival have insisted there was no way they could complete the unfinished classes.

The 95th edition of the event was called off on Tuesday – two days before the prizegiving was scheduled.

Stewart McCandless, festival chairman, said: “In the light of some enquiries about the possibility of rescheduling the uncompleted classes this is just to say that, given the current circumstances and the complexities involved, this will not be possible.”

Ayr Town Hall and Stanley Primary School in Ardrossan along with Troon’s Walker Hall and Ayr Baptist Church Centre hosted events throughout the festival.

Among the final winners were Eilidh Tait (Primary Songs from the Shows) and Callan Forsyth (Cello Solos Div E) along with Catriona McGillion (Cello Solos Div A). Reece Gibson won cello solos Div C and David Sutherland won open cello and Ross Bryant violin solos Div A.
