This week, we're taking a short hop back 10 years to look at the top stories and pictures from the Ayr Advertiser in autumn 2013.
Who can you spot in these pictures?
Ayr’s Woodland Store’s owner Saleem Shahid held a fun day to raise money for a charity who were helping his grand niece Ayesha, who desperately needed a bone marrow transplant after being diagnosed with leukaemia. A total of £500 was raised for the Anthony Nolan Trust.
Struthers Primary School raised a whopping £953 for Macmillan Cancer Support in 2013. The Macmillan coffee morning, organised by P7 pupils, saw families and friends treated to home baking and a cuppa at the school.
FOUR pupils from Ayr had the experience of a lifetime during a trip to Africa in 2014. Rebekah Gavin (S6), Hanna Smith (S6), Morven Archbold (S5) and Rachel Alner (S5) from Wellington School joined Deputy Head Mr Stovell on a trip to Budadiri in Uganda to help build a classroom for the local kids.
There was dancing in the playground as every Troon Primary pupil learned new steps in October 2013. The school held a huge danceathon to raise money for outdoor learning, with 342 pupils taking part.
A TROON teenager was presented with the highest award available within the Girl Guides. Hannah Lawrie, 19, received the prestigious Queen’s Guide Award.
