KIRKINTILLOCH ROB ROY 3

GIRVAN 6

GUTSY Girvan blasted back from a two-goal deficit to hammer hosts Rob Roy.

They racked up only their second league win of the season.

The hosts had the first chance and in 12 minutes, a good diving save from Scott Johnstone saw him turn a shot from 18 yards round the post

In 23 minutes, Rob Roy should have scored but shot wide from eight yards.

However the visitors took the lead in 29 minutes when a corner-kick from Robert Patterson was flicked on by Michael Mossie and Michael Reilly scored from 6 yds

However a three minutes later a corner from Rob Roy was delivered into a mass of players in the six-yard box and the ball was turned home.

There was despair in 41 minutes when a long ball from the home goalie keeper saw Johnstone misjudged the bounce of ball over his head and a Rob Roy forward had the easy task of scoring into the empty net.

In 57 minutes Jack McDowall made a great run and cross into the box but Patterson blasted over the bar.

Three minutes later the hosts lead 3-1 when a cross into the six-yard box and easily turned into net.

However in 64 minutes the deficit was reduced when a great passing move up through midfield from Girvan saw Patterson finish with a fine strike past the goalie.

It was all-square in 72 minutes when Reilly raced down the right wing and crosses into box for Patterson to score from 12 yards.

Six minutes later Adam Caldwell crosses a fine ball into penalty box for Patterson to complete his hat-trick with a great curling shot into the top corner.

Five minutes from time Caldwell crossed into the box and Reilly scored with a side-footed effort past the goalie.

A minute from time Craig Harvey was upended inside the box and referee had no option but to award a penalty. Reilly netted from the spot for his treble.
