TROON 3

IMPRESSIVE Troon moved four points clear of second-bottom Renfrew, as they comfortably won at New Western Park.

Troon began strongly and took the lead in seven minutes when Christian Nade did well to turn the ball home after a lovely move from Evan Maley and Dean Keenan.

The visitors doubled their rally just four minutes after the break, when Jamie Martin latched on to a flick-on from former Hearts ace Christian Nade to touch the ball beyond McLeay and into the net.

A minute later the Seasiders were forced into a change when the injured Nade made way for Dan McKay.

They then made a second change in 63 minutes when Steven McCreadie came on for Dylan Pooler.

However in 70 minutes, it was game over when Ross McCrea danced through a host of challenges to roll it past the home goalie.

Seven minutes later the injured Maley made way for Dean Fulton, but the visitors held out for a vital victory against the home strugglers.

TROON FC: Johnstone; Reilly, Sherrie, Keenan, Strachan, Murphy, Poole, McCrea, Nader, Maley, Martin. Subs: Fulton, McKay, Clark, Chatham, McCreadie.
