AFTER Dumfries Ladies 1s were unable to field a team to face Troon Ladies 1s, only Troon Ladies 2s were in action this weekend. An exciting fast paced game saw Troon Ladies 2s secure a confident 3-1 win over East Kilbride Ladies 2s.

On Saturday Ladies 2s faced East Kilbride Ladies 2s, who were placed three ranks above them in Division 3, with the game predicted to be a challenging one.

Despite being buoyed by last week’s win, Troon couldn’t find traction in the first half against East Kilbride, struggling to break an intimidating press. In contrast, East Kilbride pushed hard and were rewarded with a 1-0 lead at half time. Showing their growing maturity, Troon reacted to the failure and restructured their formation for the restart, adapting their play appropriately for the situation. This started to bear fruit with improved, flowing play reaching the opposition circle, enabling multiple shots on the East Kilbride goal - though their keeper proved skilled at denying Troon. The dam finally broke 12 minutes into the second half as Kirsty Pattison found the back of the East Kilbride net with a bold strike from the edge of the "d".

With their confidence restored, Troon piled on the pressure enabling Kirsty Pattison to quickly achieve the double putting them into the lead. While East Kilbride tried to counter, the result was put beyond doubt when with 10 minutes to go Emma Watson scored their third goal, securing the match in Troon’s favour. A strong team performance delivered Troon this 3-1 win.

Both Troon Ladies teams travel away next weekend for their final matches before the Christmas break . On Saturda Ladies 1s face GHK Ladies 2s, passback 1.30pm, and on Sunday, Ladies 2s play GHK Ladies 4s, passback 1.30pm.
